MOSES AFANYI

Moses Afanyi ist ein vielbeachteter Künstler. Er ist Mitglied der National Association of Drumologist and Living Soul Drum Clinics und Mitbegründer zahlreicher afrikanischer Musik- und Percussions-Gruppen, die sich in Europa formiert haben, wie etwa Drum-up, Tam-Tam d‘Afrique, Sakayonsa oder Ozimba Group. Moses unterrichtet auf der ganzen Welt und ist Mitglied meherer Bands, die ihre Arbeit in musikalischen Traditionen Afrikas und Lateinamerikas verrichten. Unter Ihnen Gruppen wie Voice, Sambrazil Dirt, Lele Giha Band, One Soul, Jayasri, Deep Energy. Moses war Co-Produzent der LP Africa for Africa (Äthiopien), Maama-Taata Anzaala (Sakayonsa) und er produzierte seine eigene solo CD Human Dance. Im Bereich des afrikanischen und ethnischen Tanzes arbeitet Moses Afanyi seit längerem an der musikalischen Gestaltung von Performances und Workshops. So ist er derzeit Percussion- und Drum Coordinator für zahlreiche Tanzstudios und musikalischer Leiter für die Bob Cutris Afro Contemporary Dance Company in Wien. Er arbeitet ebenfals mit dem österreichischen Kulturservice (ÖKS) an dem Projekt Schule macht Schule, wo er Rythmus und Tanz für Kinder in Schulen unterrichtet. Seine vielen Konzerte, Kompositionen, Recordings und Clinics demonstrieren einem grossen Publikum sein einzigartiges Talent als Performer, Komponist und Lehrer.

He is a respected performing and recording artist, a member of National Association of Drumologist and Living Soul Drum Clinics, co-founder in Europe of african music and percussion groups, such as Drum-up, Tam-Tam de Afrique, Sakayonsa an Ozimba Group. Moses teaches all over the world, as well as playing with several bands and traditional African and Latin groups, such as Africa for Africa, Light Bearers, Living soul, Kayana culture group. Roots man band, Voice, Sambrazil, Dirt, Lele Giha band, One Soul, Jayasri, Deep Energy. He participates in traditional performances and workshops for African and other ethic dancers. Moses was a co-producer of the albums and CD Africa for Africa, (Ethopia), Maama-Taata Anzaala (Sakayonsa), Dance Human his solo CD. His many recordings, concerts and clinics have gained a wide audience for his unique talents as a performer, composer and educator. At the moment he is a percussion- and drum coordinator for many dancing institutes and also Music coordinator for Bob Curtis Afro Contemporary Dance Company.
